Inferno Step with Crys

There's no doubt the DIP-IN steering committees are sponsoring some impactful projects.

The Near Northwest Steering Committee has assisted with funding "Inferno Step with Crys," a business owned by certified personal trainer and nutritionist Crystal Williams.

For the past two years, Crystal has been holding step and exercise classes free to the community thanks to DIP-IN funding and has had participants in class who have made some major life changes. To honor that, she has put together a Jamaican retreat in August.

Crystal loves Jamaica and travels there when she can. Through her stays, she has gotten to know the staff and leadership at one of the resorts. When she suggested holding the retreat at the resort, they agreed to support it by offering discounted rates to participants, dedicated space and equipment for workouts, and welcome and exit dinners.

Below, Crystal gives some more insight about the details and motivation behind it:

"Throughout our time there we will of course explore the beautiful country, but we will focus a lot on nutrition (food options and quality in Jamaica versus at home) and our physical health with a one-hour morning workout four of the seven days that we are there—resistance bands, core workout, recovery day, and a full body workout.

"But most of all, I want everyone on this retreat to really enjoy themselves. Most of the participants in my class have been attending for two years and have made huge lifestyle changes to accomplish their goals. I want them to take this trip with me as a 'thank you' AND a 'congrats' on all that they have accomplished."
